Resident Guest Teacher Debbi-Lee of Cake Cre8

Debbi-Lee informs me that we met back in a cake class in 2009. Would you believe it?! Yep, I was the lucky one to be her first teacher in a handbag lesson. Apparently I could be the one to blame, she tells me… lol.. So much has happened since then. It’s been so long I forgot I was her teacher! On the other hand, I can’t forget the day we started working together in 2010. It was one of the hottest cake shops and schools about town, didn’t we have countless years of tight times. We’ve stayed in touch, admired from afar! We are more than thrilled to have Debbi-Lee on board working with the team! She is a girl of many talents in the kitchen. We are excited to have her wave her magic wand around bringing her sugar artistry to the school, with flowers, piping and figurines just to name a few.

A word from Debbi-Lee:
I took up Cake Decorating in 2009. It started with a class creating my own 30th birthday cake! What a blast it was, and I knew I was hooked!

After taking a few courses and learning more I was soon offered a job- so I entered this creative sweet world and never looked back.

I eat, sleep, dream cake! My inspiration comes from life, objects, colours, textures and nature.

I love flowers, so sugar flower art was a natural progression, and these are some of my must popular classes to date.

While working in bespoke cake kitchens I've had the pleasure of making cakes for Jennifer Hawkins, Katy Perry, Manu Fiedel and David Campbell to name a few.

My passion quickly grew to teaching, from beginners to professionals alike, locally and internationally with highlights teaching in New Zealand, Germany and Qatar UAE.

I love to push the creative boundaries with icing and cake, to share my knowledge, and inspire. So teaching others, watching them learn, create and grow their skills, is what gives me the most joy in my business! I look forward to seeing you in class!
